Can you think of the many things we do in our lives that involve our homes? We sleep, eat, relax, shower, spend time with our kids, study, and so much more. This place will be in your life for years to come. This home will be where you, family and friends make memories. When your children are all grown up they will come back and bring your grand-kids and even more memories will be made and lots of stories will be told.
This investment will not only be a money investment, it will be an investment of memories for those you love. When you start the process of buying a home don’t get in such a hurry you don’t think about your life in the home. Take your time and really see yourself and your family in the home. Once your Realtor starts taking you out to tour homes be sure to think of the long haul when you are deciding your criteria. It is a big decision and it’s one that you want to think about. As a realtor, I wouldn’t want any client to get in a hurry and chose a home they will not see themselves in for years to come.
Room to Grow
Will there be any kids in your family's future? If so, planning ahead with how many rooms and how big you would like your yard might help. When you are out looking at homes consider every little detail in your life that you can put into the home you choose. Will there be any pets? Does the yard have a fenced in safe space for your pets? Will there be room for you to add a safe space for your pets?
Do you plan on being here after you retire? Do you plan on leaving the property to your children? It’s always good to think ahead, but this is so you don’t purchase a home that you hate. Nobody wants to get approved for a mortgage on a house they don’t like. Take your time and really think it through and you will love your home purchase for years to come.
